Andhra Pradesh state is leading in the country in aqua production, producing more than 65% of culture shrimp. The inland aquaculture of shrimp in low saline waters is also widespread in many regions. Owing to its ability to grow and survive in low salinity environments, the pacific white shrimp, Litopenaeus vannamei has become the candidate of choice for low saline cultures. Remediation techniques . water and dietary modification strategies has been developed to improve the growth, survival and osmoregulatory capacity of shrimp reared in low saline waters.
