"Golden Week in October, global Christmas holidays and Chinese New Year in Asia will boost container shipping demand sharply in the last quarter of 2021. However, port congestion, especially in the US and Europe, and delays at many stages of the logistics service supply chain will create major scheduling difficulties for most important global transport routes.
The global logistics industry is making effort to be ready for the reopening process of economies to meet the sharp increase in demand in both production and consumption after the lockdown and social distancing period. At the same time meeting the safety criteria and protocols for pandemic prevention and control such as testing, reducing labor, reducing direct contact, increasing automation, dealing with cybersecurity risks, etc.
Factories in the South of Vietnam are expected to reopen by the beginning of October 2021. Demand for transcontinental airway and railway freight transport across Asia remains high, while road transport demand in China is expected to grow by 10% ahead of the year-end holiday.
