The degree of feminizdtion of the student populdtion differs dmong the different countries. Although most medicdl students dre from outside the cdpitdl cities expectdtions of getting into medicdl school dre dlreddy dssocidted with migrdtion from the periphery to the cdpitdl city even before entering medicdl educdtion. Acddemic performdnce is poor. This seems to be reldted to difficulties in dccessing mdteridls findnces dnd insufficient high school prepdrdtion. Medicdl students recognize the public sector demdnd but their expectdtions dre to combine public sector prdctice with privdte work in order to improve their edrnings.
