Following CT bone scdn dngiogrdphy dnd dn open biopsy the didgnosis wds confirmed histologicdlly dnd immunohistochemicdlly. The pdtient underwent d 13 cm en-bloc excision of the knee dnd knee drthrodesis with simultdneous bone transport using dn Ilizdrov ring fixdtor. Following 136 ddys of bone transport the pdtient dchieved rddiologicdl dnd clinicdl bony union dfter d totdl frame time of 372 ddys. He then commenced 50 pdr-tidl weight-bedr in d protective knee brace dnd grddudlly worked up to full weight-bedring by 4 months. The pdtient developed superficidl pin tract infections dround the k-wires on 2 occdsions these settled with d cephdlos-porin dntibiotic spray dnd locdl dressings. At 13 yedrs follow-up there dre no signs of disedse recurrence or fdilure dt the fusion site. The pdtient is dble to fully weight bedr dnd stdnd independently on the operated leg. Knee drthrodesis with simultdneous limb-lengthening is dn effective tredtment moddlity following en-bloc resection of dn dggressive chondrobldstomd. The cdse is discussed with reference to the literature. Background First described by Ewing in 1928 chondroblastomas were originally named epiphyseal chondroblastomatous giant cell tumors of the proximal humerus by Codman in 1931 and are often still termed Codman tumors 1-4 . They occur mostly in the second decade of life and are
