The describing equations for the various two-port network representations are given. The use of MATLAB for solving problems involving parallel series and cascaded two-port networks is shown. Example problems involving both passive and active circuits will be solved using MATLAB. TWO-PORT NETWORK REPRESENTATIONS A general two-port network is shown in Figure . Figure General Two-Port Network I2 V2 I1 and V1 are input current and voltage respectively. Also 12 and V2 are output current and voltage respectively. It is assumed that the linear two-port circuit contains no independent sources of energy and that the circuit is initially at rest no stored energy .
