I did in fact achieve the objective of the presentation. Many of the people who attended the session stayed over to ask questions. Many of them have since gone on to study TOC some with me and some through other channels. As a result of the presentation I was asked to facilitate a few meetings of the local IMA Institute of Management Accountants breakfast club which was a special interest group studying activity-based costing. I also used the transition tree as a learning tool for myself. After the session I reviewed the tree and identified where I thought the presentation could have been improved.
