A. Shahrjerdi and F. Mustapha co-authored the fourth chapter, which discusses second-order shear deformation theory applied to a plate with simply supported boundary conditions. The material properties of the plate are graded in the thickness direction by a power law distribution and the equations of motion are derived via the energy method and then solved by applying Navier's method.
