Trauma transcends all national boundaries. Many less affluent countries have a significant proportion of road and industrial trauma in a generally young population. Morbidity and mortality associated with such trauma can be reduced by early and effective medical intervention. This Primary Trauma Care course is intended to provide basic knowledge and skills necessary to identify and treat those traumatised patients who require rapid assessment, resuscitation and stabilisation of their injuries. This course will particularly highlight the need for early recognition and timely intervention in specific life-threatening conditions
