Currently, NRC requirements and licensing guidance for diagnostic and therapeutic medicine are inter- mingled. This book represents the first attempt by a stakeholder professional organization, in this case the Society of Nuclear Medicine and the American College of Nuclear Physicians, to develop a stand-alone document applicable to the practice of diagnostic nuclear medicine. The suggested operating policies and procedures are the minimum necessary to ensure compliance with the revised Part 35 regulations and with other NRC regulations (., certain requirements contained in 10 CFR Parts 19, 20, and 30) that are applicable to diagnostic nuclear medicine licensees.
