The GHI Strategy in Kenya identifies three broad focus areas: (1) health systems strengthening; (2) integrated service provision; and (3) creating awareness to create demand for available services. Applying these broad areas will potentially have their greatest measurable health benefits in substantially reducing unacceptably high rates of: (1) maternal, neonatal and child mortality and (2) morbidity and mortality from neglected tropical diseases. The strategy recognizes the opportunities that exist within USG programs to ensure more integrated planning and coordination without duplication of efforts. The strategy builds on the existing interagency governance system on which USG agencies have.
