The controls included in the ordered probits are chosen to match those used by CSW, and include age and year dummies, indicators for the child’s sex and ethnicity, the logarithm of family size, the age of each of the parents, and indicators for whether the mother and father were absent from the household. 1 We do not know if CSW weighted their regressions using the sampling weights provided in the survey.
