In addition, other emergency preparedness measures such as capacity building for national disaster response teams (NDRT); standard operating procedures (SOP); volunteer management; and planning, monitoring, evaluation, and reporting (PMER) capacity, which are addressed in country development programmes, helped benefit the implementation of this DREF. While the NDRT was mobilized to carry out rapid assessments, and facilitate the training of trainers, the SOPs helped VNRC save time in procuring t- shirts, and soap and hasten the production of information, education and communication (IEC) materials.
