The several short articles herein contained were first written and published twentyfive years ago as an expression of the writer's convictions. Having come to the conclusion that conditions, in many respects, have not improved—in fact have become more alarming; and in consequence the future outlook in these most strenuous and extravagant times more uncertain, the writer was prompted to incorporate these ideals in a booklet and dedicate the same to his younger friends.
