Periodic surveys of standard building contract forms suggest that the Joint Contracts Tribunal stable of forms is in widespread use. In particular its fl agship, the Standard Form of Building Contract, in its various versions is popular where works are of more than minimal complexity; and to the extend that the industry can be said to adopt a norm, the administrative principles of the JCT Standard Form appear to be the nucleus of that norm. However, use of the Standard Form has been dogged by a high incidence of disputes. It is an open secret that many of these disputes have been attributed either to lack.
