This report uses a new methodology for profiling sectors, building a picture of the LCEGS sector from the bottom up, rather than from the top down as is traditionally the case. Using a full sector analysis model (see Box ), it examines a broader range of products and activities within the Low Carbon and Environmental Goods and Services (LCEGS) sector, from three core ‘Level 1’ sectors (Environment, Renewable Energy and Emerging Low Carbon), subdivided down to 2490 ‘Level 5’ sub‐sectors. In addition to a broader range of emerging sectors, the study also casts a wider net than previous analyses, by including supply and value chain companies and their contribution to the overall sector. .
