The Agrarian type applies to 205 regions, 26% of land area and 34% of agricultural area. This group’s share of population is smaller, at 24%, and its share of non-urban GDP only a little over half that, at 13%. The Diversified (Market Services) group has fewer regions (149), and just 17% of area, but accounts for a rather larger share of population (23%). At the same time it generates a much greater share of (non-urban) GPD, at 27%.
