In addition to the major carbohydrate moieties of the glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor, we report that Plasmodiumfalciparummerozoite surface protein1 (MSP-1) bearsO-GlcNAc modifications predominantly in b-ano-meric configuration, in both the C- andN-terminal portions of the protein.
