Nowadays, English has become an international language. It has been the official language in many fields of life particularly in England. As an second year student of Ha Noi Open University, I have chances to study subject “History of the English language”, and I myself keen on using of English tenses. It is not easy to use correctly tenses in sentence. Therefore, my study will mainly concentrate on using British English tenses. Many researchers have paid a lot of time and interest to study using tenses in English such as: - Comrie, Bernard (1989) Tense. Cambridge University Press. - Plotnik, A. (2003). Tense counts!
