This article is dealing with the study on the heterogeneous graft-reaction of maleic anhydride onto polyethylene. The reaction was carried out on the brabender mixer extruder. The optimal reaction conditions were found as follows, the temperature: 190o C, the reaction time: 6 minutes, the screw speed: 60 r/min., the %weight content of PE, MA and DCP: 80, and , respectively. The success of the reaction was confirmed by the IR-spectroscopy, contact angles measurements and mechanical property testing. It showed that the obtained MAPE had the similar structure and phase compatibility as of the commercial one.
