In this study, the catalyst function of iron alum-water is investigated in the H2O2/iron alum-water system toward the textile wastewater treatment. The experimental results show that the H2O2/iron alum-water system is more advantageous than that of Fenton system with the same concentration of iron catalyst in textile wastewater treatment. For example, for H2O2/iron alum-water system activity, it can highly decrease COD of wastewater from 12000 mgO2/L down to 490 mgO2/L at pH ~; mL of H2O2 in 24 hours of reaction time; for Fe2SO4/H2O2 system, wastewater COD was in low reduction under the same experimental conditions and iron catalyst concentration. The higher pH conditions (pH ≈ ), the H 2O2/iron alum-water system activity has still been in stability I do not understand; while the Fe2SO4/H2O2 system activity is decreased in the same experimental conditions. This study shows that there are many advantages of iron alum-water in environmental treatment, including re-use of wastewater in environmental treatment application, no-use (or less use) of chemicals, and no-sludge after the treatment.
