AIMS: By the end of the lesson: Students will be able to pronounce exactly about “/b/,/p/”. Language skill: practicing pronunciation. II. ANTICIPATED PROBLEMS & SOLUTIONS Problem(s): Students may not pronounce exactly about /b/ and /p/ Solution(s): Teacher helps them pronounce. III. APPROACH AND TEACHING AIDS: Communicative Approach. PowerPoint Presentation, Handout, Pictures, Blackboard, Chalks, Audio. TEACHING PROCEDURE: New lesson. Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Content Warm up ( 5 minutes) T welcomes to our class. “Good morning/ Good afternoon, everyone. How are you?” “To begin, I have a mini game. I divide our class to 4 group. The rule game is group 1 and 2 write words to begin letter /b/, group 3 and 4 write words to begin letter /p/. And you remember that don’t use your book and notebook, please! Do you understand? Are you ready?” Listen rule game and play game. Pre-pronunciation ( 7 minutes) Introduces lesson. “ Today, you study pronunciation /b/ and /p/” Explains pronunciation /b/ and /p/. Asks Ss listen and repeat each consonant /b/ and /p/. Listen to teacher and take note. Listen and repeat each consonant /b/ and /p/. Unit 10 (cont.) Pronunciation: /b/ , /p/ While – pronunciation ( 20 minutes) Shows words and read each words. “ You look at the words and listen to me” Then, asks Ss to listen and repeat. Asks Ss to work in pairs in 1 minute. Invites individual to read these words. Look at the board and listen. Listen and repeat. Work in pairs. Individual. Stand up and repeat. Words : “ pin /pin/ – bin/bin/, pen /pen/ – Ben /ben/, pear/peə(r)/ – bear /beə(r)/ , cap /kæp/ – cab /kæb/, pup /pʌp/ – pub /pʌb/” Plays audio for students listening each sentences twice. Then, asks Ss to listen and repeat. Invites individual to read these sentences. Listen to audio twice. Listen and repeat Stand up and repeat each sentences. Audio of each sentences : “Pen, please! – Ben, please! What a lively pup! – What a lively pub!” Post – pronunciation ( 13 minutes) Shows exercise. Then, asks Ss to listen carefully three times and tick the words a) or b) that they hear in the sentences. Invites Ss to go to the board and write their answers. “ Now, I have a mini exercise. You work in groups and you listen carefully three times and tick the words a) or b) that you hear in the sentences. Next, you will have 1 minute to complete it. Finally, 1 person each group will go to the board and write it. If any groups write the fastest and do the best exercise, you will have a big present.” Take notes. Go to the board and write answers. Answers: 1b)bin 4a)pig 2a)Poppy 5b)back 3a)pup 6a)peach Plays audio again and checks their answers. Correct mistakes and take note. Plays video. Watch video.
