A new monoaromatic compound, methyl (E)-2,4-dihydroxy-6-methyl-3-(3-oxobut-1-en-1- yl)benzoate (1), together with two common lichen metabolites atranol (2), 2-O-methylatranol (3) were isolated from the lichen Parmotrema tsavoense (Krog & Swinscow) Krog & Swinscow.
