Viewpoints on Vietnamese educational philosophyin the reform era

The paper presents some philosophical perspectives on Vietnamese education in the reform period or “doi moi”. Besides, the article illustrates views are reflected in the principles of democracy and social justice in education systems and in the educational programs characterized by humanities, scientifical and modern principles, promoting national identity and universal program content. Keywords: educational philosophy, reform In the 11th National Party Congress in 2011, the necessity for a comprehensive and fundamental reform of the Vietnamese education system was , human resources training especially the provision of high - quality human resources catering for the development of science and technology have been considered as one of the three breakthroughs in the strategic socio-economic development plan for the period 2011 – 2020 in combination with the perfection of a socialist-oriented market economy and development of the national infrastructure. The implementation of such reform should be derived from educational philosophical notions as the foundation for the thoughts to guide the educational reform process of the nation in the promotion of industrialization and modernization. This article will not deliver any definition of educational philosophy nor detail the basic content of modern Vietnamese educational philosophies, but focus on some provisional philosophical viewpoints about Vietnamese education in the reform era. 1.
