This is hoped to lay a foundation for further studies on the potentials and realities of conducting EMI courses at Vietnamese university settings. Furthermore, its findings are also useful for raising National Foreign Languages 2020 (NFL 2020) educational managers’ and policy makers’ awareness of this issue, which will hopefully inform changes in the suggested agendas in an effort to make this policy more viable and effective. Keywords: English as a medium of instruction (EMI), Quy Nhon University (QNU) TÓM TẮT Nghiên cứu tiềm năng dạy một số môn khoa học cơ bản ở năm cuối đại học bằng tiếng Anh: điển cứu tại trường Đại học Quy Nhơn Bài báo trình bày một nghiên cứu sơ bộ nhằm khảo sát khả năng dạy bằng tiếng Anh một số môn khoa học cơ bản ở năm cuối tại trường Đại học Quy Nhơn. Kết quả nghiên cứu kỳ vọng sẽ tạo cơ sở cho những nghiên cứu sau này về tiềm năng và thực tế dạy và học bằng tiếng Anh tại các trường đại học và cao đẳng ở Việt Nam. Ngoài ra, bài báo cũng nhằm thông tin cho các nhà quản lý giáo dục và hoạch định chính sách của đề án Ngoại ngữ 2020 tìm giải pháp phù hợp để tạo điều kiện cho các trường thực hiện theo đúng lộ trình của đề án.
