This paper is to investigate Vietnam’s auditing service during its world economic integration, and simultaneously recommend some measures to improve the Vietnam’s audit in time to come. | RESEARCHES & DISCUSSIONS Over the past two decades, Vietnam has gained striking achievements in the economic integration into the world market by the service sector in general and auditing service in particular. The 2010 saw many great events of the Vietnam’s Communist Party and the State; and is also a time to reflect on its integration and work out appropriate measures to get it beefed up. This paper is to investigate Vietnam’s auditing service during its world economic integration, and simultaneously recommend some measures to improve the Vietnam’s audit in time to come. The need for international integration and integration by Vietnam’s auditing service In the current trend of globalization, trade in services has become a vital part of the international commerce. For many countries, including Vietnam, the service sector accounts for a big share in the GDP and yields a high return in the international commerce which is predicted to keep soaring up in time to come. International transactions are growing diversely and perplexedly, raising an urgent need for financial statements and tax declarations appropriate to international standards as well as professional auditing and accounting firms. Besides, financial statement audited by qualified auditing firms is also a necessary condition for companies to be listed in regional and international finance markets. Thus, the proactive integration into the world economy is a sine qua non of each country. Such the integration must be undertaken by attempts to free up and open more fields including trade in services, especially the auditing one, to foreign competition.
