An overview of SMEs in Vietnam Criteria to define a small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) are various from country to country. However, they still have a lot in common, for example, small capital, small workforce, narrow scope of business, simple organizational structure, small market share, low sales, poor management capacity, and need for the governmental assistance in terms of capital, technologies, tax, interest rate, etc. so as to evolve itself.
