The majority of the isolates showed an intrinsic resistance to the antibiotics chloramphenicol (20 and 50 µg ml-1), erythromycin (30 µg ml-1), kanamycin (10 µg ml-1), and streptomycin (40, 80, and 100 µg ml-1). Plasmid DNA profiles of the isolates were identified and it was determined that 2 isolates contained plasmid DNA from 1 to 3.
