The aim of this research is defining the characteristics of dry ports based on examining a large global sample of inland nodes. In the last part, we present an overview of dry port networks around the world. The key characteristics of an advanced dry port are discussed based on the insights from the global sample. Tóm tắt Phát triển cảng cạn là một kết quả tất yếu của quá trình container hóa và mối quan hệ ngày càng khăng khít giữa cảng biển và hệ thống hậu phương. Bài báo này nhằm mục đích miêu tả rõ các đặc tính của cảng cạn dựa trên việc xem xét đánh giá một số lượng lớn các cảng nội địa trên thế giới. Bài báo được kết cấu như sau: Dựa trên việc đánh giá và tổng hợp tài liệu, chúng tôi trước tiên bàn luận về khái niệm cảng cạn bằng cách xem xét các điểm chung của thuật ngữ chỉ các nút vận tải nội địa nằm trong các hệ thống khác nhau. Tiếp theo, bài báo trình bày cách phân loại cảng cạn dựa trên nhiều tiêu chí, yếu tố khác nhau cũng như dựa trên lợi ích của các bên liên qua.
