Chilli (Capsicum annuum L.) is a major spice crop in India. The production of chilli is constrained mainly by fruit rot (anthracnose) caused by Colletotrichum capsici and other species. Use of chemical fungicides is the common practice for control of anthracnose. However, continuous use of chemical fungicides leads to negative effects on environment, soil and human health. Therefore, in view of exploring the alternatives to control Colletotrichum capsici and management of fruit rot, the updated literature on characteristics of Colletotrichum capsici, fruit yield losses, symptoms and management practices like mechanical, chemical, biological and integrated measures are discussed herewith. | Management of fruit rot of chilli caused by Colletotrichum capsici
