Geo referenced soil survey was undertaken in rice growing areas of Anaimalai Block, Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu. The main aim of this study was to carry out the evaluation of soil fertility and fertilization practices being followed by the rice growing farmers of the selected villages in Anaimalai block. Soil samples were collected from 18 villages with an auger from a depth of 0-15 cm and analyzed for pH, electrical conductivity, organic carbon, available macro and micro nutrients using standard analytical methods. These data were used to spot the range of critical soil available nutrient and the relationships among the soil fertility parameters.
