Performance of coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) to different sources of organic phosphorus and PSB on growth and seed yield

Field experiment was conducted during rabi-2018 at Research Institute of Organic Farming field unit, UAS, GKVK, Bengaluru to study the different sources of organic phosphorus and PSB on growth, seed yield and essential oil content in coriander laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design with 10 treatments replicated thrice and the variety used was Co Cr-4. Results of the experiment revealed that phosphorus at 40 kg ha-1 applied through neem cake + PSB at 2 kg ha-1 recorded significantly higher seed yield (665 kg ha-1 ) and essential oil yield ( kg ha-1 ). These results are attributed to enhanced growth parameters like plant height ( cm), primary branches per plant (), leaf area ( cm2 plant-1 ), dry matter production per plant ( g) and yield attributes like number of umbels per plant (), number of umbellets per umbel () and number of seeds per umbel (). Whereas, phosphorus at 40 kg ha-1 applied through rock phosphate results in lower seed and essential oil yield (511 and kg ha1 , respectively). | Performance of coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) to different sources of organic phosphorus and PSB on growth and seed yield
