This amplifier is used to amplify nanojoule and femtosecond Ti:Sapphire laser pulses to yield a 70 µJ pulse energy at 10 Hz repetition rate, which corresponds to an amplification factor of 10000 times. The amplified laser pulses are expected to be nearly transform-limited with a pulse duration of less than 100 fs.
