The main objective of this research was to develop a solar energy based thermal reservoir cum heat exchanger using thermic fluid viz. paraffin oil as thermal heat storage and heat transfer medium for generation of hot water which can be used for milk processing operation like pasteurization of milk. In this research, basically three mild steel pressure vessels were constructed; one of which was simply a concentric mild steel vessel with a single cavity (configuration 1) which was only used for the preliminary study of thermic fluid and based on this, a thermal reservoir with two different configurations (configuration 2 and configuration 3) were constructed for hot water generation which could be continuously circulated for in plant processing of milk. | Thermic fluid based solar thermal energy storage system for milk processing
