Avian Mycoplasmosis is one of the most substantial global causes of economic losses to the poultry industry, particularly in chickens and turkeys. Present investigation was designed to detect Mycoplasma species from suspected broiler breeder/layer using genus specific Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). Hundred specimens including 50 each of choanal swabs and tracheal swabs were collected from five layer/breeder poultry farms from different areas of Maharashtra State. The swabs were inoculated in Pleuropneumonia Like Organism (PPLO) broth for isolation of Mycoplasma organisms. | Detection of mycoplasma spp. from choanal and tracheal samples using genus specific polymerase chain reaction
