About 30% ( mha) of the area under rice production during kharif season in India remain fallow in the subsequent rabi due to number of biotic, abiotic and socioeconomic constrains. . In Bhagalpur district of Bihar approximately per cent of the area remains fallow after kharif rice cultivation. The present study was conducted in Bhagalpur district of Bihar with the objective to study the socio-economic conditions of farmers in rice fallow area. Simple random sampling method was used to select village, block and respondents.
