With increasing human population, freshwater fish culture has been intensified throughout the world as fish is a source of cheap animal protein. However, aquatic fungi have an important bearing on fish health. Hence the present study was aimed at analyzing the commonly occurring fungi in a fresh water system in Tamil Nadu and assessing their infection on fishes.
