Eight high yielding rice genotypes along with their twenty eight crosses which effected in a diallel fashion excluding reciprocals were subjected to combining ability which aimed at elucidating the genetic system underlying the inheritance of yield and quality traits. The study revealed predominance of non-additive gene action for most of the yield components and quality traits except straw yield/plant, which was under the control of additive gene action. | Gene action and combining ability for yield and quality traits in rice (Oryza sativa L.) using diallel analysis
