Field studies on the effect of organic and inorganic sources of silicon against yellow stem borer in rice revealed the superiority of calcium silicate at 2t/ha and diatomaceous earth at in arresting stem borer damage with a record of average – % dead heart (DH) and – white ear head (WEH) as against – % DH and WEH in control. At vegetative and heading stages both the treatments resulted in up to 60% and 69% decline in borer damage. | Effect of organic and inorganic sources of silicon against yellow stem borer (Scirpophaga incertulas Walker) of rice in Odisha, India
