In India, wheat is cultivated on around mha that produces mt with an average productivity of t/ha. But in recent scenario of climate change our wheat cultivars succumb to the grave problem of terminal heat stress leading to substantial reduction in its production and productivity. Sixteen genotypes of wheat were used for assessing the molecular diversity for terminal heat stress tolerance against 14 SSR markers linked to the trait of interest. Results revealed that amplified alleles ranged from185 bp to 230 bp. The maximum number of polymorphic bands was generated with primers Xgwm 484 and Xcfd 43 that resulted in 4 amplicons followed by primer Xgwm 268 that resulted in 3 amplicons. | DNA marker based characterization of wheat genotypes for terminal heat tolerance
