The most common clinical condition reported in dogs is acid related diseases in the stomach like gastric disorders due to a structural and functional defect in gastric mucosa. The most important factor for the development of gastritis, peptic ulcer disease and gastric cancer in human is Helicobacter pylori. In the cases of gastric disorder lesions in canine gastric mucosa is closely similar to their human counterparts. Many etiological factors are responsible for oxidative stress due to excessive generation of reactive oxygen species as a cause of gastric mucosal damage.
