Dermatophytes are among the common fungal agents implicated in superficial skin infections worldwide. Infections commonly occur in hot and humid climates. They include species of Trichophyton, Microsporum and Epidermophyton. The present study was done to assess the clinical profile of dermatophytic infections and to identify the species of fungi that are prevalent in this region.
