Seventy eight Jersey and thirty two Holstein Friesian cross bred cattles were reported with the history of carbohydrate engorgement. Rumen fluid pH was less than 5 in all the animals. Endoscopy was performed by using Olympus flexible video endoscope. Animals were physically restrained without sedation. On endoscopy yellowish to brown coloured fluid could be visualized upon entering through relaxed lower oesophageal sphincter. The rumen fluid was lavaged out and irrigation of rumen was done to facilitate the ruminoscopy. | Ruminoscopy in cattle Bos taurus with ruminal lactacidosis - A rapid and novel method to visualize rumen papillary changes
