In K-pop Reception and Participatory Fan Culture in Austria, Sang-Yeon Sung highlights K-pop’s popularity and its participatory fan culture in Austria between February and August 2013 through qualitative in-depth interviews with event organizers, sponsors, fans and participant-observation of two major K-pop events held in Vienna.
