Mango ginger (Curcuma amada Roxb.) is popular in Southern and Eastern India mainly due to its typical pleasant flavor. It is a spice cum medicinal plant that has been reported to possess anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and antitumor properties. The rhizomes find an extensive application in the preparation pickles because of its exotic mango aroma.
