In the recent decades, as a consequence of environment degradation and resource depletion in the hill areas due to soil erosion and denudation of hill is resulting in increased struggle to produce good amount of food grain. The migration of male member of the family for better livelihood options underlies the dependence of rural economy on women‟s shoulders. Deforestation and low water availability adds to their problems by spending more time in collection of fuel, fodder and fetching water.
