The study was conducted in all the four zones of Himachal Pradesh with one representative district from each zone. All is, however, not well with the ongoing process of crop diversification in the state. Some impending challenges those endanger the economic viability and ecological sustainability of cash crops were lack of irrigation facilities, small land holding, fluctuating price, inadequate storage facilities, soil erosion, loss of water holding capacity, lack of processing facilities and lack of proper knowledge about the application of insecticides pesticides and fertilizers. | Challenges endangering economic viability and ecological sustainability of crop diversification in Himachal Pradesh
