Seeds from yellow passion fruit Passiflora edulis var. flavicarpa present dormancy imposed by the seed coat. The present study aimed to evaluate some treatments to overcome this dormancy for better germination. An experiment was conducted during 2015 to study the effect of different pre-sowing treatments on germination, vigour and growth of passion fruit. The study showed significant differences among the treatments. Maximum germination percentage () and least mean germination time ( days after sowing) was observed in seeds treated with sulphuric acid for 4 minutes. Maximum seedling height , number of leaves and vigour index () were also observed in seeds treated with sulphuric acid for 4 minutes and better result was also found in 10% sucrose treatment.
