Iron is one of the essential mineral for all organisms and its deficiency leads to many serious problems in human being worldwide. Plants have evolved with specific ZIP transporters to uptake and transport the iron from the soil. IRT2 is one of the ZIPs family members, which has a role in uptake of Fe2+ from the soil. Indian barnyard millet (E. frumentacea L.) is one of the rich sources of iron among millets. IRT2 gene of Indian barnyard millet is up regulated under iron deficient condition and hence we isolated EfIRT2 gene. | Isolation and in silico analysis of iron regulated transporter 2 gene from Indian Barnyard millet Echinochloa frumentacea L.
