In the study area, adoption of hybrid rice was started in 2005 and maximum adoption was in 2012. Majority (80%) of the farmers growhybrid-6444 variety of hybrid rice in their first year, with an average yield of q/ha. There are many comparative benefits of hybrid rice reported by the farmers but along with it many constraints were also faced by the farmers in its cultivation. The time variable allows us to classify the respondents into adopter categories. Both curves of the adoption of hybrid rice over time by the farmers and s-shaped curve on cumulative basis were plotted. The percentages of adopter category found in the study area were approximately similar to that of Rogers in adopter categories, ., percent innovators, early adopters, early majority, late majority and laggards.
