Frequent draughts are encountered due to deficient rains in desert leading to crop failure due to poor seed germination. Farmers do not have sufficient resources to bear the losses out of failure. Some techniques are effective in maintaining the germination. Fennel is the spice crop supporting the desert farmers. A sizable area is under fennel production in desert. Crop failure leads to disturb the economy of farmers.
